RedPlexus and Q Rators (an association created by two Ukrainian artists, Anna Ten and Natasha Tseliuba) are organising a brand new Plexus Rouge aimed at promoting contemporary Ukrainian political and feminist art.
5 Ukrainian artists will be in residency for 2 months. They have been working with associations and residents of the Belle de Mai as well as Marseille’s northern neighbourhoods. This edition is meant as a display of solidarity, allowing these Ukrainian artists to share their feelings about the war through the creation of powerful artistic acts.
“In every artistic act there is a battle to be fought, a war to be won” (Tchina Ndjidda)
The commitment of the Cameroonian dancer, choreographer and activist Tchina Ndjidda resonates with that of these Ukrainian artists. The challenge of these creations is to give hope back to those who have lost it, and to show that even in the most disastrous situations there is a reason to carry on fighting.

Building/Rebuilding is the common thread that links all the artistic proposals of this Plexus Rouge.

Resistance, Desire and Conviviality are part of the DNA of this Plexus Rouge Amsterdam-Marseille #2

Even during these troubled and chaotic times, we’ve kept on creating and taking risks. Perhaps to feel alive. The time for sharing and reunion has come. At a time of climatic, health, political and human turmoil, this Plexus Rouge is an invitation to question, imagine and fantasise about the world(s) to come. It’s also an invitation to immerse yourself in incandescent artistic performances that encourage exchange. So come and dream the world(s) after in the presence of a new generation of performers from Marseille as well as established artists from Amsterdam’s LGBTQI+ scene for two essential and complementary evenings : Dream Service and Agapes.

You’ll be able to meet your ideal partner in a dreamlike speed-dating session, create a collective dream guided by a crazy specialist, dive into queer reveries, take part in a trash recycling chain and the birth of a new Rabelaisian world, free yourself from your petty humanity to reconnect with your animality and the feeling of infinity, and dance beyond your limits in the Plexus Nuit.

We look forward to enjoying Plexus Rouge 2021 with you, as a celebration of bodies and souls, an ode to a warm and inspiring reunion, a precious time for ourselves and for others.
